About SCIS
The mission of Sumter County Intermediate School is to challenge, nurture, and support students on their journey towards graduation.
In 2015, Sumter County Schools underwent a reconfiguration process that led to the creation of two new schools, one of which was Sumter County Intermediate School.
SCIS was founded in 2015 at the location of the old Sumter County Middle School. The school opened under the administration of Principal Sharron Marcus and Assistant Principal Chad Chafin. SCIS was titled an intermediate school because it housed 5th grade and 6th grade.
This year SICS is under the administration of Principal Dr. Mohan Gugulothu, and Assistant Principals, Mr. Rodney Shelton, and Mrs. Tawana Bettis. We house 4th, 5th, and 6th grades.
We are looking forward to making it a Gold-Medal Year at SCIS!
